Response on Responsive Websites
It is very interesting the way the article starts contrasting web design with architecture; where one has to adapt and the other is less prompt to modifications. This sets a good mood for the rest of the reading.
What I get from this article is that it seems that many web designers have become lazy when doing the codes for what they call responsive web sites. There is a misconception of relying on one single code or command and expecting the page to behave in the same manner and function properly in every single browser/device out there. It is much more complex than that.
Its the designers's duty to reinvent the page's layout on different scenarios. Playing with the hierarchy of the page's components and making trials to see what can be done better/fixed on each display resolution. Even responsive typography, something that I never imagined it existed, can help in this case.
The mock-up page example used to illustrate the media queries modifications made the author's approach on building a responsive website more clear; easing its understanding by beginner web designers – like myself.

I agree with you! It is very interesting the way they contrast these two great parts of design because it makes it easier to understand in certain way. I do not believe some designers are lazy, there are just easier ways to make your job faster and with more quality
