Responding to Responsive Design

Overall, I think the article offers up a unique understanding of responsive design. By comparing web design to architecture, Ethan Marcotte easily conveys how both require a basis and an ever growing understanding of the subject. Both change with the trends and the technology available, and professionals in that field must always adapt to what new changes emerge. A part of the article that jumped out at me was on Michael Fox and Miles Kemp's take on a addaptive approach on web design "...rather than creating immutable, unchanging spaces that define a particular experience, they suggest inhabitant and structure can—and should—mutually influence each other." This speaks to how responsive design has it's own life, since the design and those people who experience the design constantly change.
