Net neutrality is such a hot topic because it is paradoxical in nature. If you have net neutrality, Netflix for example keeps generating revenue with 4K streaming and the ISP has to give up more bandwidth with no added benefit to their margins. However, without net neutrality, you have ISP's engaging in business arrangements and selective content blocking which would completely compromise the internet as a level playing field.
