Youtube TV

This week Youtube announced release of YouTube TV. Youtube TV is a service that provides a TV cable TV service through Youtube. The service provides approximately 40 channels for $35 and provides access to all the content from youtube red. YouTube TV would also provide access to 6 accounts.

Even thought this new development is expected, its exciting to see youtube continue to disrupt the television sphere. The new offerings will definetly increase the growth of Youtube and its parents company (Alphabet). The new offerings are attractive, especially to the growing number of cord-cutters who rely on online video platforms for entertainment.

At the small time, Its scary to see Alphabet increase in market share. The slow pull to monopoly could potentially lead to the companies demise.

After the election this year, many people began to blame Facebook because of its spread of "fake news" and other kinds of misinformation... And we all know that Facebook has a really powerful algorithm.  It might be really bad how all of these fake news are misleading the world and making us take bad decisions in some way. The problem with this algorithms is that their filters select the information we see in our feed! As explained in the article,  An algorithm is a procedure or formula for solving a problem, based on conducting a sequence of specified actions. (Go  here  for more) In the world there are two "cultural algorithms" that rule the world: the ones for creating money and the ones for profit making. These two have influenced the formation and design of many companies and the economy globally. Have you ever thought how money is created?
